Loeb Music Library Joins Borrow Direct

May 28, 2013—Approximately 176,000 items from the Eda Kuhn Loeb Music Library collection are now accessible to Harvard’s Borrow Direct partners, in addition to the approximately 6.5 million items from Harvard made available previously.

“We in the Music Library are pleased to participate in this important collaborative venture by making our holdings available to scholars at peer institutions,” said Sarah Adams, the acting Richard F. French Librarian and keeper of the Isham Memorial Library, Eda Kuhn Loeb Music Library.

Borrow Direct, which Harvard joined in 2011, enables students, faculty and staff from any participating partner to borrow books directly from the libraries of Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale. The combined Borrow Direct catalog provides access to 50 million volumes; borrowers typically receive titles within four business days.

In addition to Loeb Music, Harvard-Yenching, the Andover-Harvard Theological Library, Countway Library of Medicine, Harvard Law School Library, Widener Library and collections housed at the Harvard Depository also participate in Borrow Direct.
