Advisory: Traffic Impacts on Wednesday

Dear Colleagues:

I write to advise you of an event that may impact traffic for Wednesday afternoon.

The Harvard University Police Department has learned from the Cambridge Police Department that there will be a high-profile dignitary visiting the Harvard Square tomorrow afternoon between 4:00pm and 6:30pm and the visit will have a significant impact on vehicular traffic. This visit is not connected to the University.

The following streets and roads will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic:

  • JFK Street to Mt Auburn Street
  • South at Dunster Street
  • Winthrop Street, Dunster to Mt Auburn Streets
  • Eliot Street
  • University Road
  • Parts of Memorial Drive near JFK Street

Pedestrians will be allowed to travel in the area. Bicyclists will be asked to walk their bicycles while in the area.
