| Holdings Description: | Manuscript holdings include professional and/or personal papers of individual designers such as Edward Larrabee Barnes, Kenneth Conant, Charles Eliot, Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Dan Kiley, Le Corbusier, John Charles Olmsted, Eleanor Raymond, Josep Lluis Sert, Arthur and Sidney Shurcliff, and Hugh Stubbins.. Major subject areas include architecture, city planning, housing, and landscape architecture. Formats include correspondence, organizational records, scrapbooks, newsclippings, memorabilia and artifacts, photographs, maps, architectural plans, sketches, drawings, photographs, slides and printed ephemera. |
| History: | The Frances Loeb Library opened in 1972 upon the completion of George Gund Hall. Supported in part by a gift of John L. Loeb, S.B. 1924, LL.D. 1971 (hon), it is named in honor of his wife, Frances Lehman Loeb. The Special Collections Department was established in 1991. |
