June 18, 2013—The Harvard Library is proud to congratulate seven Library staff members who were named a 2013 Harvard Hero. The Harvard Heroes Program recognizes and celebrates high-performing staff from across the University, and only a small number of Harvard's more than 12,000 staff members were selected. The Library awardees are:

June 11, 2013—In December 2010, the Dumbarton Oaks Image Collections and Fieldwork Archives (ICFA) team rediscovered films documenting some of the Byzantine Institute’s most important fieldwork—in a freezer. After more than two years of restoration and digitzation, the 14 films were recently published online.
“We recognized that these were really unique materials. Rita Lam, senior financial analyst, earned her master’s degree in information management systems from the Harvard Extension School in May. June 11, 2013—Harvard’s Library Lab, which enhances knowledge and library services with generous support from the Arcadia Fund, will launch its Showcase Year in December 2013. The Showcase Year will involve refining coding and development, creating documentation, sharing projects across Harvard and with other institutions, usability testing and comprehensively documenting the Library Lab program and process. The Showcase Year will also initiate the final year of funding for the Library Lab from the Arcadia Fund grant.
