The options below are for your use to get or request books or monographic materials. The three options are HOLLIS, Borrow Direct and Interlibrary Loan.

Option: HOLLIS
Use HOLLIS to determine if Harvard Library owns the material. If the item is in the circulating collection and not checked out, you can go to the holding library and Get It immediately. If the item is located at the Harvard Depository, you can request it in HOLLIS and it will be delivered on the next business day. If checked out to another patron, you may also recall the item.

Option: Borrow Direct
Borrow Direct enables Harvard University students, faculty and staff with library borrowing privileges and active e-mail accounts to borrow books directly from the libraries of Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, MIT, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale. The library bears the cost of the service and there is no charge to patrons. Login to Borrow Direct.

Option: Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables Harvard University students, faculty and staff with library borrowing privileges to request materials not owned by Harvard libraries. Login to ILL.
The options below are available to request articles or portions of a work. The three options are Citation Linker (for licensed full-text articles), Scan & Deliver (via HOLLIS & HOLLIS Classic, and Interlibrary Loan.

Option: Citation Linker
When you have a citation to an article, complete the Citation Linker form with as much information as you have from the citation. Then, click Find It. The displayed results will lead to online full text versions of the article, if available in the Harvard Library. In addition, a link to HOLLIS will display so that any available print holdings in the Harvard Library can be located.
The options below are available to request articles or portions of a work. The three options are Citation Linker (for licensed full-text articles), Scan & Deliver (via HOLLIS & HOLLIS Classic, and Interlibrary Loan.

Option: Scan & Deliver
Search HOLLIS or HOLLIS Classic to locate an item. Items eligible for this service will have a Scan and Deliver link next to the library holding the item. If you request a scan, it will be delivered to you by email within 4 business days.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables Harvard University students, faculty and staff with library borrowing privileges to request materials not owned by a Harvard library. Login to ILL.
The options below are for your use when requesting DVDs, audiobooks, microforms or any other item that does not fit the category of book or article. This may include theses, dissertations, etc. The two options are HOLLIS and Interlibrary Loan.

Option: HOLLIS
Use HOLLIS to determine if Harvard Library owns the material. If the item is in the circulating collection and not checked out, you can go to the holding library and Get It immediately. If the item is located at the Harvard Depository, you can request it in HOLLIS and it will be delivered within 24 hours. If checked out to another patron, you may also recall the item.
