Access Information:The mission of the Harvard Kennedy School Library is to serve the research needs of Harvard Kennedy School students, faculty, and staff and the greater Harvard community. As a result, access to the library is limited to current Harvard ID holders and HKS Alumni. Those with special research needs that can only be met by the HKS Library may apply for access to the collection by completing this form. Approved visitors will be issued access passes to the HKS Library. For more information, contact the Reference Department at 1-617-495-1302. All library users are subject to the terms of the HKS code of conduct and related policies. The Library is committed to providing access to its collections and services to persons with disabilities and will make every reasonable effort to assist users with special needs. Circulation Policy:Anyone with either a valid Harvard ID or an HKS Library Special Borrower's Card may borrow from the circulating collections. For detailed information about borrowing periods, renewals, fines, etc. consult the HKS Library home page, or call the Circulation Desk at 495-1300.

The collections cover issues confronting government today: international affairs, social policy, the economy, national security, the environment, and the electoral process --with an emphasis on public policy and management in the public and nonprofit sectors.

We do not regularly collect foreign language publications or materials in theoretical political science and economics, law, history or city regional planning.

54,000 monographs; 1,800 serial titles
Expanded description of collection
The collections cover issues confronting government today: international affairs, social policy, the economy, national security, the environment, and the electoral process with emphasis on public policy and management in the public and nonprofit sectors. Of particular interest is our hard copy collection of Kennedy School working papers, current journals, and statistical publications of the United States, the OECD,International Monetary Fund, and other intergovernmental organizations. Not a library of record, we rely heavily upon research depth in other Harvard libraries.
