| Holdings Description: | Summary description of collection: The collections cover issues confronting government today: international affairs, social policy, the economy, national security, the environment, and the electoral process --with an emphasis on public policy and management in the public and nonprofit sectors.
MATERIALS NOT HELD:We do not regularly collect foreign language publications or materials in theoretical political science and economics, law, history or city regional planning.

Expanded description of collection: The collections cover issues confronting government
today: international affairs, social policy, the economy,
national security, the environment, and the electoral process
with emphasis on public policy and management in the public and nonprofit sectors. Of particular interest is our hard copy collection of Kennedy School working papers, current journals, and statistical publications of the United States, the OECD,International Monetary Fund, and other intergovernmental organizations. Not a library of record, we rely heavily upon research depth in other Harvard libraries.

| Services: | Internal ILL Policy:
HARVARD>> The HKS Library provides interlibrary loan services to other Harvard libraries. Requests by ALA forms or OCLC are required. The loan period for material from our circulating book collection is three to four weeks with renewal possible. Photocopies can be provided of non-circulating material.
External ILL Policy:
NON-HARVARD>> The library does lend to libraries outside of Harvard. Call 495-1300.
ILL Borrowing Policy:
BORROWING>> The library borrows from other libraries for HKS affiliates only. For HKS faculty and staff, we borrow from libraries both inside and outside of Harvard. For students, we borrow from libraries outside Harvard, and from those Harvard libraries that are not within walking distance of the Kennedy School.
