| Access Information: | Library access is limited to Harvard students, faculty, and staff. Other scholars/researchers are welcome between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., but must first secure visitation permission from the Librarian and present a valid photo I.D. |

90-day loan period for faculty, staff, and graduate students. 28-day loan period for undergraduates. Special Borrowers may not check out books. Journals do not circulate.

| Holdings Description: | Summary description of collection: The Chemistry Library collects basic research material in theoretical and experimental chemistry and some closely related disciplines. Copies of departmental theses are also located in the library.
MATERIALS NOT HELD: Applied chemistry, chemical technology, environmental chemistry, and geochemistry.
Size of collection: Approximately 55,000 volumes ; 400 active serials titles.
Expanded description of collection: Emphasis is on primary literature published in journals. In addition, the library collects graduate textbooks, monographs and serials in the fields of physical and theoretical chemistry, quantum chemistry, inorganic and bioinorganic, organic and bioorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and some material in the fields of molecular biology, physics, computers, and surface science.

| Services: | Internal ILL Policy:
HARVARD>> The Chemistry Library does not lend materials but will provide photocopies, in compliance with copyright restrictions, to any Harvard Library without charge.
External ILL Policy:
NON-HARVARD>> The Chemistry Library does not lend materials. The Library will provide photocopies of journal articles to non-Harvard libraries that provide ALA compliant request forms.
Charges vary.
The Chemistry Library will provide information delivery services for members of the Chemistry Dept. only. There is no limit to the number of requests and all costs associated with borrowing will be passed onto the patron.
