Access Information:Open to individuals who possess a current Harvard ID or a current ID from another educational institution.
Circulation Policy:Borrowing privileges are extended to those with a current Harvard ID.
Holdings Description:General sciences - the undergraduate collections in applied sciences,astronomy, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics, zoology, history of science, agriculture engineering and environmental science; specially developed collections supporting the Cambridge campus or general University Community in health and medicine, computer manuals, biostatistics; research collections in pure mathematics and theoretical statistics. Videotapes of some lectures and courses.
Services:The library participates in an interlibrary loan program for Harvard undergraduates majoring in the sciences or enrolled in core sourses and for faculty, staff, and graduate students of the Mathematics and Statistics Departments. Fees may apply. Requests can be made in person or online. Equipment and facilities available: Cassette player VHS players (limited to use of library's videotapes) Microfiche reader Photocopier (card or coin operated), $.10/exposure, (change machine on premises) Calculator (for in-house use only) Study rooms (on a first come-first serve basis, NO RESERVATIONS, no classes)
Resources for Persons with Disabilities:Access for persons with disabilities is through the entrance of the Science Center facing Harvard Yard. An elevator, accessible restroom and telephone, and retrieval upon request are available. Optilec Visual Enlarger and TTY. Group study rooms can be used for readers with visual handicaps, although not on a reserved-time basis. Single occupants of group study rooms may be asked to yield rooms to any two or more persons wishing to work/study together.
