Access Information:Access to Lamont is extended to individuals who possess a current Harvard ID. Lamont Library will be closed from noon December 24 - January 3. If you will be on campus January 4-24 see Hours to find out if the library will be open and when.
Circulation Policy:Circulating collection. Borrowing privileges are extended to students, faculty, and staff of Harvard University and certain special borrowers authorized by the Library Privileges Desk in Widener Library. Reserves borrowing privileges are more restrictive.
Holdings Description:Lamont Library supports the undergraduate curriculum in the humanities and social sciences. In addition to supporting course requirements and undergraduate research needs the collection reflects a wide variety of student interests in literature, current political affairs, the arts and the environment. Houses the Woodberry Poetry Room which contains a special collection of contemporary poetry, the Henry Weston Farnsworth Room, a collection for leisure reading, and the Morse Music & Media unit, a major circulating collection with state-of-the-art audio and video equipment for playback.
Services:The library does not participate in an interlibrary loan program. Equipment and facilities available include Crimson Cash/change machines; e-mail and WWW access; photocopiers; slide projectors; TDD/TYY, pay, and campus telephones; and typewriters. The Morse Music & Media unit provides playback equipment for DVDs, videocassettes, LP records, audiocassettes and compact discs.
Resources for Persons with Disabilities:The Lamont building is wheelchair accessible. A ramp is located to the left of the main entrance, near Quincy Street. Elevators service all floors of the library. Accessible workstations, restrooms, an amplified telephone, TTY/TDD, wheelchair accessible photocopier, and retireval upon request are available. The Center for Students with Disabilities is located on Level 1; contact the Harvard University Adaptive Technology Lab at 617-496-8800 for information regarding resources.

         Lamont Library is open 24 hours a day, five days a week, Monday through Thursday. Open regular term hours on Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Presidents' Day.
