| Holdings Description: | Holdings of the Fung Library consist of the collections of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, the Documentation Center of Contemporary Japan, the Fairbank Center, and a general journal collection supported by the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (WCFIA).
Davis Center Collection: The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies collection is comprised of books and periodicals related to the field of Russian and Eurasian studies, particularly in the social sciences (political science, economics, sociology, and history) of that region of the world.
DCJ Collection: The DCJ collects materials on postwar Japan, weighted heavily toward the social sciences. Particular emphasis is placed on resources related to political science, diplomacy, economics and labor, and social-cultural phenomena. In addition to its selection of mainstream studies, the DCJ collects non-trade publications, journals, newsletters, scholarly papers, and reports issued by government ministries and institutions, private sector think tanks, and university affiliated research and policy institutions.
Fairbank Center Collection: The library contains English and Chinese social science materials on the People's Republic of China since 1949, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and the rise of the Communist Party in China. The library specializes in hard-to-find Chinese-language publications, including statistical sources and unpublished documents, and in this way complements other Harvard collections in the field of China studies. The library now holds approximately 30,000 volumes, about half of which are in Chinese. The library also subscribes to 130 periodicals and newspapers in Chinese and English.
General Fung Collection: This collection includes journals and newspapers covering the fields of international politics, foreign relations, foreign policy, economics, and political science.
