Harvard University Archives Collections Online

Collections digitized by the Archives include the papers of early presidents, library charging records, some University publications, and images.

 

The Harvard-Radcliffe Online Historical Reference Shelf

This site contains annual reports of the presidents and treasurers of Harvard and Radcliffe, 1826–1995; narrative histories of both institutions; statistics about both institutions; founding documents pertaining to Harvard; and links to archives of Harvard periodicals.

 

A Calendar of Harvard History (requires Harvard network connection)

This database contains descriptions of people, events and activities from 1636 to the present. It is searchable by date and keyword.

 

Harvard Charter of 1650

This page contains a transcription of the Charter of 1650, as well as a link to a zoom view of the digitized image.

 

The Tolman Index

This index, compiled by Bertha Illsley Tolman, provides exhaustive name and subject entries for most University records from 1636 through the 1870s. (Records of the Treasurer are not included.) Each entry cites the precise location of a name or subject in the records (year/volume/page).
